On April 11, 2025, Lorene Willis attended an informational meeting of the New Mexico Tribal Language Consortium in Albuquerque where Regis Pecos. Co-Director of the Leadership Institute was present to provide an overview of the SB-13 process and deliver an informative presentation on indigenous languages concerning policies and federal law statutes.

The deadline for the Governor's approval was April 11th.

UPDATE: The legislation was not signed and is designated as a pocket veto. What's a pocket veto? It's an indirect veto of a legislative bill by the president or a governor by retaining the bill unsigned until it is too late for it to be dealt with during the legislative session.
