Sharing our story with the world

At L Designs, Etc. we offer expert consultation services that are specifically designed to meet your organization or individual needs. Our services involve engaging with elders who are the wisdom holders of our nation and they are contracted by our company to play a significant role in our consultation services.  We have extensive knowledge in a diverse range of subjects such as Jicarilla Apache language structure, Apache lifeways, ceremonial concerns, grant writing, and medicinal plants. Our experts work closely with you to provide the information and guidance you need to make informed decisions and achieve success.

The Jicarilla Apache Culture Committee

1993 - 2024

The Culture Committee consisted of a group of elders who gathered monthly at the Culture Center in Dulce, NM. More than 12 elders regularly attended the meetings. The invaluable wisdom shared during their time together formed the foundation for the creation of L Designs, Etc.

Rocky Mountain PBS Project

June 2024, L Designs, Etc. was approached by Kate Perdoni, Engagement Journalism Director of Rocky Mountain PBS in Colorado. After obtaining approval from the Jicarilla Apache Legislative Council, she sought to create an educational video about the Jicarilla Apache for a PBS Native American series. This initiative followed Perdoni's documentation of a Dulce Elementary School to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. During filming, Maureen Olson, Lorene Willis, and Bryan Vigil insights on Apache traditions and discussed modern environmental impacts, including global warming and resource depletion.
